Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

White dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Unlike many of the other dragons in the herd, Crellen was not born there; he arrived at the cave fully grown. Some were fearful of letting him into the herd because they thought he was a spy from Shadow Puppet's herd. After some hard work proving himself to the other dragons, he was allowed to stay. When asked where he came from, he answered "the future." There was no sarcasm or joking in his reply, he was completely serious. Because of this, he has been nicknamed "The Time Traveler." The other dragons tease him but he doesn't pay attention to it. Crellen truly believes he has traveled back in time for some reason. Most dragons are convinced that he is just loony, but some believe him. Crellen has gathered a small group of dragons that are dedicated to helping him get back to his time. But, the problem is, he is simply not from the future. Crellen is just a normal dragon no different than any other.
