Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. Despite being as black as outer space, it has a few bright patterns on it.
And look! It's grown wings and its scales have gained beautiful patterns on it. It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don't grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling's wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.

Celbalrai is a lot like her unfrozen sister, Adhafera, to whom she looks up as an idol. It surprised nobody in the cave when it became apparent that Celbalrai's chosen nebula was one that orbited that which her sister had chosen. While she does not possess the same intellectual capacities as Adhafera, "Cel" is nonetheless a sharp little thing and has occasional moments of great clarity of thought. Mostly, however, she provides a sounding-board for Adhafera's ideas, which she could listen to all day. The two are nearly inseparable, either sitting shoulder to shoulder in quiet contemplation, or deep in earnest discussion. Some adults think Cel ought to see more dragons of her own age, or ought to be more childish and playful, but the young Nebula would not change her life for anything.
