Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Speckled with Speed loves to steal. He finds it easy due to his incredible speed and agility. He amuses himself by taking objects that interest him from travelers. Unlike most whip tail dragons, Speckled with Speed can run almost as fast as a regular dragon on his back legs. He finds that it is much easier to grab things with is front paws and mouth than just using his jaws. While some dragons make fun of him for running on his back legs, other whip tail dragons try to copy him and end up failing. While Speckled with Speed's master doesn't approve of his thievery, she finds that it is very useful while raiding eggs from other dragons.
