As the nocturnal relative to Sunbeam Drakes, Moonglow Drakes are a secretive breed most active under the light of the moons and stars. They are wary of others, but are known to have incredible loyalty should their trust be won. Catching sight of Moonglow Drakes as they dance amid the moonlight is seen as a favorable omen by those they live near, and tamed individuals are common. They are slightly smaller than their cousins, averaging around the size of a cat.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Despite his kind commonly being rather reserved and quiet, Irised is the complete opposite. He's charming to every single female dragon that comes his way, and he takes them to see lovely places where the night sky shows the most stars. He dances around with his friends, showing off his 'moves',and always seems to have something to talk about. He'd make up stories about what happened to him, and tells all the hatchlings his amazing tales of wonderful adventures. He isn't usually himself at day times however, staying inside caves and other places to keep away from the light, but he's still willing to talk at those times.
