Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Futsubasa, an agile skywing dragon, is one who seems to live for excitement. His love for those adrenaline-pumping moments is the main cause for almost every scar and injury hes ever suffered. As a hatchling he would fly as high as he could in the cave, fold up his wings, and plummet to the ground with a shout of delight. At the last second he would whip out his wings and usually land safely. While this caused much agitation for other dragons, especially the guardians, he continued to perform that and other such daring feats. One of his greatest pleasures is to race besides his mate, Saaranga, when shes whipped up a storm. While humble about most everything, he is extremely proud of his flying ability and often boasts about his latest accomplishments.  The one accomplishment he wishes he could boast of is that he had flown among the stars and planets in space.
