Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Shadow-wings is one of the Supernova clan's fiercest fighters, and often accompanies Shadow and Storm on their patrols. In a battle for dominance with Tamira Brightwing, Shadow-wings was only narrowly defeated, but still she carries that burden with growls and grumbling. A jealous soul with a heart forged of the hardest steel, this young female is always looking for ways to gain power and prestige. However, this makes her unpopular among the Supernova dragons. Shadow likes her to some extent because he shares her name, but among the group there are no others who enjoy her presence. Regardless, Shadow-wings is waiting for the right moment to overthrow her rival.
