Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Green Love of the Night was the first hatchling to come into the care of his "mother" Green Love of the World. Most dragons see him as a pest because of his boundless energy that he often uses while the rest of the dragons in his cave are asleep. It has been said that he is the apple of his "mother's" eye. He has three "siblings" who hate him intensely.
