Frilled Dragons are smaller than most other breeds, but when threatened, they stretch out their wings and frills to appear larger. They generally do not like to fight and prefer hiding to confrontation. Frilled dragons live in small groups and often band together to scare off potential threats. Males also use their frills as a way to attract mates, with those displaying the “best” frills being more likely to breed.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When Jungle Whipscale was a young hatchling, his parents were attacked by a cruel red dragon. There was nowhere for them to hide, and The red dragon wasn't intimidated by his parent's frills, either. The red dragon ended up killing his parents, but Whipscale had managed to escape. He was so distraught that he returned to his egg, never wanting to face the world again.

Then, one day, a human named Taliax found his egg. It took a while, but under the tender care and coaxing of Moon, he finally hatched. He was always sad and lonely, though. One night, a black dragon named Clouded Emerald, who was on her way out of the cave for a night hunt, heard Whipscale muttering about the death of his parents in his sleep. She decided to offer him a chance to be her apprentice and learn the ways of a warrior. Jungle Whipscale accepted, vowing to avenge his parents' deaths.

To this day he has never found the red dragon that murdered his parents, but when he does, he will make the red dragon pay.
