Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very alert, and likes to watch what you’re doing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Cryogeny Veil found a cult of humans that worship bread. She snuck into a few of their meetings, and saw that they were nibbling bits of bread and calling it their deity's flesh; and then, one day in spring, the cult members were all shouting about "He is risen"—the obvious conclusion is that they had used their sacred starter (hopefully sourdough, but Cryogeny hasn't gotten to taste) to make bread dough and left it overnight, and were now celebrating the inevitable result. Some of the older dragons have questioned Cryogeny's conclusions, but she knows she has the right answer. When she gets bigger, she and Psychomorris Dorkface plan to start a vegetatable cult, so they can give all the broccoli and cabbages they're supposed to eat to their followers. Cryogeny in particular can not stand cabbage. She doesn't mind broccoli so much, but Psychomorris doesn't like it, so they've agreed to give both vegetables to their cult.
