Finally, after much feeding, the baby has grown into a full Dino! Dinos can eat almost anything, including things with spikes. In order to do so, they must have very tough stomachs.

Though Geoffrey the Giraffe is currently official mascot of Toys "R" Us chains worldwide, he is not the first. One of the marketing team's earliest picks was this red boot-clad dinosaur, who had all the hallmarks of a lovable yet mass-producible character.

In fact, a huge animatronic version was briefly displayed outside corporate headquarters. The sub-contractor responsible for the robot's brain did a remarkable job—the creation could walk, talk, and think in a very convincing fashion. He was a big hit with visitors to the site.

One stormy night, however, the robot was struck by lightning. A few circuits got shorted, and the dinosaur stomped off the lawn, set in its own single-minded purpose. It overturned cars and razed buildings before finally leaving the city, disappearing into a maze of nearby caves.

The company immediately ditched the design, opting for something far less destructive. The scientist, intoxicated by his "success", developed a taste for world domination instead.
