Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Stephano is a young Gold dragon. However, unlike the rest of his breed, he is comparatively very miniscule, only about the size of a mature hatchling. He is always found going on adventures with his best friend, or "bro", Pewdie the Yellow Dino. Together, the two go on several adventures all the time to haunted mansions, abandoned castles, houses possessed by unknown evil forces, etc. He plays the role of Pewdie's "sidekick" in a way, even though he is much braver and has a very leader-like personality, always telling Pewdie "not to waste the fuel in his lantern" and to "shut up, there's a monster nearby". He has what would be the equivalent of a French accent for dragons. He currently has no specified mate.
