Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems very protective.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This hatchling lives in a remote region full of exotic wildlife. She was first seen driving away hunters with alternating shots of fire, ice, and electricity. Those who come to study the wildlife without disrupting it are watched but left unharmed by her.

While all wildlife in the area is under her care, she is particularly protective of a variety of snail that may only be found in the waterfall near her lair.
