Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Sunrise dragons are closely related to sunset dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunrise dragons prefer to live in large groups and enjoy basking in the early morning sun. They are usually most active in the morning, and go to sleep in the early evening.

Morning Glow once traveled the land with the nomadic Crystal Tiger Stripe.  However, when their travels brought them to the island of Shield Tail and Dark Drakon's dragon herd, Morning Glow and his brother, Evening Shadow, decided to remain behind for a short time, in order to hone their magical abilities by training under Solar Sunbeam's tutelage.  Morning Glow shares a strong love with his brother, Evening Shadow, and the two are never apart for long.  For this reason, Morning Glow often feels sympathy for Evening Shadow, knowing that he is not happy with living alongside a large herd. To make it up to his brother, Morning Glow will go out of his way in ensuring that they have plenty of time to themselves.
