Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

CanCan Herk, as this particular dragon is referred to, is rumored to have seen something so utterly horrifying that he never even blinks. Endlessly, he stares at a wall and can speak only one line of the trauma that he witnessed. "Herk does le CanCan with Bananas!" Many dragons have tried to get through to him, even more have tried to gag him and shut him up when he screams in the night, rocking backwards and forwards.

Many have speculated that a Herk must be a terrible monster, capable of luring innocent dragons and then feasting on their brains, using bananas as spoons and leaving only a terrible memory of the event and the Herk-monster dancing away with its banana spoons.

Others just think CanCan Herk is insane, and had no brains to begin with. The latter is the more probable.
