Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Gideon is one of fifteen dragons handpicked by the Anu clan leader, Athia, to help quell the rebellion during the clan war. Gideon is an elder on the council. He has been around for so many years and he has seen so much. He used to hold the highest position in the council but let that job fall to a young spitfire dragon when managing the war became too much for him. He is still a valuable member of the council though. He coaches and trains the young recruits, preparing them for the jobs he once used to hold. He is passing on his ageless wisdom onto the incoming wave of new fighters. Gideon is well known for his violent temper, but as the years have passed, the others have realized that he is mostly all bark and very little bite. He is actually a touch on the sentimental side. Though a new member to the council, a clever young swallowtail named Penelope, is terrified of him. His youth and his fighting days behind him, Gideon is still living up to the meaning of his name, Warrior.
