It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The 'L' from L Starshine's name stands out for 'Light'. Fifth member of the Council, she can be physically distinguished from Wyrda by the shade of her scales, which is darker than the leader's. Her inside, however, is almost the same as hers.

Both are considered to be guides, like the light at the end of a tunnel or a fire lighted torch, and both of them like to spread their optimism over the others. Starshine, however, is quieter and calmer than the other purple, and hates to take decisions, not matter if they are personal or involve others. That is why while Wyrda was turned into the leader of the clan, she stayed behind and acts like her councillor since then. What she enjoys the most is laying down under the sun, and in a secret act of vanity, seeing how her scales beautifully reflect the light. She also likes to battle, but prefers to go along the group and help them to get organised, rather than fighting herself, because she lacks of physical strength.
