Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Eldora Tahir was rescued from death by the wizard, Lynn.

Eldora's sire comes from a very diverse family, and her middle name comes from one of his ancestors. Her personal name was of Lynn's choosing, meant to honor Eldora's mother yet distinguish her as a separate dragon. Lynn has never asked why she was abandoned by her previous clan.

When Lynn first found Elli, she was a bit of a runt. Now that she has spent time in the 'Shaded Hallow' with the ever dreaming Lynn, she has grown into a full-bodied and robust adult.

Carefree and happy all the time, Eldora loves to spend her day drifting about on her cloud, especially when she sits it over Lynn's hut. If the other dragons didn't get worried about the wizard, Elli would never leave his thoughts in peace. Lynn does love her dearly, but he has started to look into spells to keep his focus when she's about. And when Lynn is away, Elli visits her daydreams on the other dragons and hatchlings of the clan.
