Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Obed's upbringing left him with a desire to soothe the pain of others. When he was growing up, Lazarus and Merab gave him all the loving attention a hatchling could need. But Obed also saw the deep sadness that sometimes struck one or both of his parents, and the way they managed to help each other through their sadness.

Obed tends to keep his emotions close, only truly expressing himself when he feels it's important. He devotes his time to making other dragons feel better about themselves and about life, and has a few very close friends.

Obed has been living with Thalira and Sanjam, two of his closest friends, ever since he learned they were being threatened. He guards their cave by night, and talks with them to keep their spirits up. Though he worries about their safety, he is awed by their happiness in the face of peril and uncertainty. If an attack ever comes he would be honoured to fight to protect such wonderful dragons.
