Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Tender heart is one of the many second generations of the Animal Abuse Awareness Lineage. She can tell just how much her part in this lineage means to StarSea and can always seem to make her smile. She was given her name because she is kind and caring and an obvious daughter of the lineage. When she found out that Forever sorrows first child, a son, was released into the wild, she cried for her sister and the loss of the lineage member. She knows what it means to StarSea to help save every animal they can, and so she does everything in her power to keep the lineage going strong.
