Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Barlaeneus is sarcastic and likes to point as colourful jibes as he can. He wouldn't mind speaking his mind even if it hurts anyone's feelings. Most of the time, he is too talkative, but he knows when it's best to keep quiet. He constantly keeps an eye open for someone to mess with. He normally thinks that he's better than most. He likes to keep his dignity a lot and hates being insulted. He normally wouldn't want to show if he's angry, panic, shock or anything that would give an enemy something to pick on, but occasionally it doesn't work. He would run away if it means saving his own skin. But he's not a coward, it's self-preservation as he would put it and he's sometimes even too bold for his own good. He enjoys most battles a lot. It's hard but not impossible to gain his trust and when someone gains his trust, he can be very loyal.
