Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Sly and cunning, Keida is one hatchling with an eye for treasure. He can often be found skulking around the cave, trying to nick other dragons' trinkets when they aren't paying an unduly amount of attention to him. He doesn't feel guilty about his thefts, though, and rather prides himself on his stealth skills. He often finds himself at odds with Keep, a gold hatchling with magpie-like tendencies, because he's always trying to 'borrow' her treasures, and she's always trying to annex his.
