Pink Dragons are primarily herbivores and only eat meat during the mating season, when mates will exchange kills. When it is not breeding season, pink dragons spend most of their time incubating eggs and caring for their clan’s young. Due to their feminine color, it was traditionally thought that pink dragons were a strictly female breed, but this is not true.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Zort first noticed the Geode Dragon Shi Ling when she emerged from helping her parents Trobi and Evia excavate and grow the mixed adoptive hatchling cave. He felt he had never seen a more beautiful dragon in all of his life, and although he had a few Pink Dragon comrades, he left their company to follow her into the depths of the caverns. For days, she sang to him the rock lore taught her by her dam. He came to understand her obsession and why she considered what she did a calling. In turn he performed the mating dance of his life. She shyly accepted his attentions and they now have offspring together.
