Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Blusang Lindwurms are quite different than most dragons in that they lack hind legs. In this regard, they resemble snakes, and this is evident in their movement; these lindwurms slither along the ground, using their forelegs to lift them over rougher terrain. Blusangs are a coastal breed, preferring to live along rocky beaches and in seaside caves rather than sandy locations. They are omnivores who graze on seaweed from time to time, although their primary form of sustenance is fish.

Skimmerille loves to skim the surface of the ocean as she flies. One day while skimming the water, she got caught in an unexpected whirlpool. The dragon creating the watery vortex was both startled and fascinated by her. A rapid, deep romance formed between them. Now Skimmerille often sees a matching traveler below her as she skims the water, her mate swimming along with her flight.
