Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has brightly colored fins on its back.

And look! It has grown larger fins! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Dezeah is a feisty creature if ever there was one. She doesn't take any lip from anyone, however old or wise they may be, and though she is but small, she is fierce. She is quick to anger and gets into fights with the other hatchlings in the cave, most of whom she bosses around with ease. The miniature tyrant simply cannot bear to feel inferior to anyone and so she takes it out on those she sees as threats and those too weak to resist -- which boils down to just about everyone. Her sworn enemy among the "puppy-pack" is Faerion.
