Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It perfectly depicts summer weather.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Moofle got his name from how unnaturally fluffy he is. He is not allowed to go outside of the seasonal dragon's den because it is always hidden in the dark season grove, so vampire dragons and the hating Shadow, a black marrow dragon, often lurk outside. Within his cave, huge crystals of ice and gems grow out of the walls, and the floor is covered in slippery ice, so most other hatchlings remain here as well, cared for by Em, Dezembre and Polaras. He enjoys sliding around on the ice with other hatchlings, as they are constantly watched by the guardians in the den as they take care of eggs. Moofle is hyperactive, but is often asleep with his mother, Shauntal, and the other seasonals and hatchlings.
