Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The poor lieutenant has been the weather forecaster in the clan cave for longer than most of his fellow dragons have been alive. Over the years, his experience in examining leaf marks and measuring roof dripping should have improved his accuracy. The thunder Bestiary, however, took special interest in this lowly lieutenant. Bestiary and a few storm cronies delight in influencing weather patterns as soon as Stormcaster posts his predictions, thus unfairly destroying his reputation. The ill treatment afforded him is slowly sapping away the weather-guesser's sanity. He retains enough to stagger up each morning, bustle about and post more results, but soon he will degrade into sniffing the wind and describing off of that. It'd be just as accurate anyway given the other dragons' interference.
