Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kanifa's arrival in the Thoiris clan was strange enough. Her egg just appeared by the cave's entrance one night. There was no sign of whoever brought the egg, except for a note stuck to it that said the clan was free to keep it. The dragons were cautious at first, but they eventually decided to take it in, as the egg proved to be a relatively harmless species.

Kanifa, due to her appearance, is quite popular among the clan's male dragons; she has mostly little to no interest in them, however. She is a fairly quiet dragonness who doesn't like to interact with others too much. Her mate is Jinke the nebula dragon since he is by far the closest to her in personality.
