Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Small Bitey Teeth, or Small for short, is a young Tinsel dragon. Named for his abnormally small fangs, his father, Sharp Bitey Teeth, was rather ashamed of him as a hatchling, so he moved in with his current clan as an adult. He really wants to be on the Protectors' Guild of his clan, but he has no means of defense besides biting the attacker with his tiny, dull teeth. He is convinced that there's nothing wrong with him, and that eventually the Protectors' Guild will realize their error and let him defend the clan with them. His friend, Aolani Gazer, also wants to be on the Guild, but all she can do is splash the attacker. Sure, together they once saved the day by attacking a snail who wanted to enter the cave without their permission, but the Guild didn't even notice. He currently has no specified mate.
