Desipis Dragons are an extremely dangerous breed, synonymous with the paths of desolation they leave in their wakes. These gargantuan beasts are infamous for their innate ability to control and manipulate the minds of others, which they use to pulverize the sanities of their foes and forge false memories. This power is especially effective on the foolish, and only the strongest-willed individuals have been known to resist a Desipis’s cunning. Most who anger Desipises do not live to tell the tale. Desipis Dragons are especially feared for their uncanny power of absorbing the magic of others with the fire they breathe and converting it into the bright reserves of crystallized mana that decorate their bodies.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Vertigo is one of the three Great Patriarchs of the Vorare Clan. This ancient he-Desipis views himself as brilliant even by the standards of his species, and in his age he has grown fat and powerful with huge inner mana stores. Just being near him decays the sanity of non-dragons due to his magical aura. Being so rich in magical entropy yet so intellectually inclined twists a simple taste for destruction into a more complex impulse. Vertigo loves paradox, contradiction, and the use of those tools to break down the minds of sentient creatures. When expected to do one thing, he will do the opposite. This sows confusion and uncertainty in those he views as lesser minds. Sometimes this means doing kind things for no apparent benefit to himself just to sow fear and confusion as the 'beneficiaries' wonder what evil he is up to now. The old beast loves nothing better than when he proves himself beyond the comprehension of others. Only his closest kin are spared this behavior. Mostly.
