Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s clear that night is its favourite time.

And look! It has grown wings and turned red on its back! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Ketsueki shibuki is a mischievous little hatchling. He can be very sneaky when he wants to be and loves to use the neuro-toxins in his tail against any prey he can find. He doesn't go after anything that is too much larger than him, he is smarter than that, and he only hunts at night. The red spots on his back have never grown  seeing as he has never been out in the sun. His spots are very small and will probably remain so throughout his life. He hates the glare of the sun and would much rather spend his time basking in the cooling light of the moon.

His name means 'Blood Droplet'.
