Sophrosyne Dragons are a rare sight, typically making themselves known only to protect and heal the vulnerable. A visit from one serves as a reminder that kindness prevails, and that there’s always hope for positive change. While it is known that they possess the power to reverse botched spells, some claim they can even cure methodically-cast curses. This has never been formally documented, but these dragons have been seen arriving in the aftermath of violence, and the scars of tragedy seem to heal faster in their wake. The feathers of a Sophrosyne have thus become a symbol of perseverance and light in the face of darkness.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. A shy and skittish young female, this dragon tends to keep to herself, flying from blackberry bush to blackberry bush as she collects ingredients for her wonderful fizzing drinks. It was during one such day--calm, peaceful, just the way she likes it--that she saw a male soulpeace being harassed by a far larger gray dragon, apparently angry about the former's dive through his storm cloud. Displaying a courage she didn't know she had, she confronted the gray and managed to convince him to free his captive. The other soulpeace, extremely grateful, promised on the spot to be loyal to her forever--and he has been. A nervous and timid relationship on her part soon turned to affection towards this diligent, charming, ridiculous male, and now the two are a mated pair, deeply in love and busy rearing a whole clutch of adorable little children.
