Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Saskia Inks is a young Black dragon. Like all of the other Black dragons in her clan, she lives in a small cavern in the back of her clan's cave where Izar stores the parchment and inks. However, instead of drawing like most of the other Black dragons, she prefers collecting knives and other blades. She has an immense collection of all kinds of blades, such as swords, spears, knives, daggers, shards of sharp glass, scythes, machetes, etc. Because of her vast knowledge of blades, she is an expert hunter for her clan. She is more sociable than most other Black dragons, and will often go to Drakeville to see her mate, Toffsy Inks, who is the local blacksmith.
