Neotropical Dragons are a breed that originate in rainforests. They are fun-loving and enjoy lounging on tree branches, eating whatever fruit they find. They are also often found sunning themselves on rocks, using their large wings to soak up the rays. In the summer, males compete for mates by showing off their striped wings and gliding in spirals down the tree trunks. It is said that the larger the wings, the more likely the male will attract a suitable mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Arboro the Neotropical dragon does not like heights. He sits at the bottom of the trees that surround the caves of the Storm crow Clan looking sadly up into the branches. He practices his spirals on the ground, chasing his tail first deosil and then widdershins. When his friends ask him what he is doing he tells them that he is 'getting ready'. But when they challenge him to go up into the tree tops and practice his spirals while descending as all good Neotropical dragons should, he scuttles away and lies down upon a sunny rock and pretends to be asleep. He likes to eat fruit but as he is unable to climb the trees to get it he has to be content with the windfalls that are scattered around the forest floor. At night he dreams of climbing to the top of the highest tree and then sailing down again in a perfect spiral, unfortunately these are just dreams and when he is awake he grows faint and dizzy at the very thought of climbing so high.
