Originating from a single species that thrived in ancient times, Xenowyrms have become an incredibly diverse breed whose appearances vary depending on their habitats. Each Xenowyrm subspecies is heavily reliant on the power of a different type of mana, making them powerful magic users. Thalassas are a unique variety of Xenowyrm in that they are the only subspecies known to dwell in marine environments. Their porous skin and slender build are perfectly suited for the aquatic terrain, but they can only survive for short periods of time on land. Powerful users of water magic, they can create large waves and alter currents with a simple thought.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

The Rella Reef is a byproduct of ancient magic colliding into each other a thousand years ago and leaking into the ocean. The source is unknown, but the effects are obvious: the clash of water and life with each other created a unstable mana pool of both, which spilled out into the Rella Reef. This's where Lainey the Rella Reef Guardian lives, always slinking over the sand.

Lainey's role in this colorful area is to protect it from itself, from the oversaturation of water mana that leaks from the coral in the middle of the reef. This phenomenon is a result of the mana explosion: life mana works with water mana to continuously produce the latter, perpetuating itself in a cycle. The reason Lainey must remove this excess mana is because of the reaction excess water mana has with life mana, which is the gradual depletion of oxygen. Lainey thus works to remove the glut of mana by creating massive tide pools to guard the reef, which keeps out opportunistic intruders while using up the mana.
