Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Fannsidhe is elegant, almost dainty in her movements. There is a catlike grace about her as she moves about the cave, and she is a master of feminine poses.

She is especially fond of spreading her luxurious fins, which are resplendant in shades of light orchid and deep gemlike purple. The sun shines through the translucent webbing between her arching spines and casts gorgeous amethyst beams across the cave walls.

Oddly enough, with all of her feminine wiles and undeniable beauty, she has yet to settle down and choose a mate of her own. She is still somewhat immature, and needs to discover that the beauty that lies within sometimes has a great deal more impact than that which is visible on the surface.
