Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Black Babysitter isn't actually a hatchling but an adult dragon that volunteered to be shrunken by magic. He has all the skills and experience of a trained fighter although he lacks the strength and range that come with an adult body.

Black Babysitter was chosen for the job of guarding the hatchlings of the clan while keeping a low-key profile by Nick Fury—the guardian dragon that organizes all the defenses of the clan and while it may seem a bit paranoid to have a secret guardian for the hatchlings, when there are so many adults looking out for them, Black Babysitter absolutely trusts Nick and shares his belief that he'd be rather safe than sorry.

Besides that he has found that he even enjoys the company of the hatchlings as long as he can sneak off from time to time to have an adult conversation with a grown up dragon.
