Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Crownmask comes from the faraway clan of the human AsheraAshtoreth. The human is famed far and wide for the way she takes care of her dragons, remembering all the little details that add up to strong and healthy families of dragons who can take care of themselves. Many a dragon has left her lands over the course of time, not only because her lands get crowded with all the young hatchlings being born each year, but also because young adventurous dragons need to explore the world away from their parents to learn to stand on their own two (or four) paws.

After spending most of his youth on such a journey, Crownmask settled down with the dragons of Herk's clan, recognizing a similar ethos and a familiar loving bond between the dragons and their human friend that he knew from his hatchling years.
