Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

This 'dragon' fears one thing: being eaten. In truth no one would want to—the cheese it is comprised of has long since gone bad, and in fact stinks quite badly. Kaini can't bear to get rid of it, alive or not, so in the clan it remains despite the strong stench.
