When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nerina is a fun-loving and mischievous dragon. She enjoys scaring fishermen and anybody who happens to come across the lake that she lives in. One day, she frightened a mint-colored dragon so much that it ran faster than anything she had ever seen before. She enjoyed a good laugh... until his mate showed up. Peaceful as she was, she did not make any threats against Nerina. Instead, she asked if she would kindly not scare her mate again unless she wanted to face the wrath of the rest of her family. Nerina was shocked. No dragon had ever behaved that way around her before. To this day, she still loves scaring the daylights out of any living creature, save the ones of the purple dragon's family.
