Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

ShadowCatch II is a somewhat rebellious Dragon who was named after the famous Black Sea Dragon in a series of books his owner, the DragonKing James, read. He mated with the Magi known as (Morgen) Le Fang, and they produced a single Black Egg.

The egg will probably gain much of his tremendous strength of muscle and prowess at the Shadow Magyks. He uses these traits to work out as an assassin for hominids, and strikes at night, luring his victims out with telepathic images and the last thing they see is his bright green eyes before they die one of several ways; crushed be his strength, incinerated by his magic, having their minds blown up by telepathy, or dying another cruel mystical death.
