Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It occasionally shoots small puffs of smoke from its nose, like it’s trying to breathe fire.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Firestorm is good friends with Snowstorm, the white dragon hatchling. Firestorm isn't supposed to play with Snowstorm, as he is from an upper class white dragon family and Firestorm is just an orphan, but neither of the two dragon hatchlings mind. They've made a game out of it; see how long they can hide before Ma Snowstorm finds them. <br/>Firestorm is rather lonely, as he has no family to look after him. He lives in the woods near the Snowstorm clans lair, and while he would like the Snowstorms to adopt him, they are very particular about mixing breeds.
