As the nocturnal relative to Sunbeam Drakes, Moonglow Drakes are a secretive breed most active under the light of the moons and stars. They are wary of others, but are known to have incredible loyalty should their trust be won. Catching sight of Moonglow Drakes as they dance amid the moonlight is seen as a favorable omen by those they live near, and tamed individuals are common. They are slightly smaller than their cousins, averaging around the size of a cat.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Moon lived in a valley called Hollowvally and was the leader of his tribe. He never took a mate, friendship was enough for him. One day not long after his leadership ceremony, a weak, skinny, day glory drake stumbled into their valley. There was a whole clan of the pathetic creatures. Seeing as the newcomers had no strength to fight the tribe and no hostility towards it, the tribes merged. The first drake he saw had been the leader, who went by the name of Sun. They died long ago but their legacy remains. Moon's spirit is still alive smiling down at his tribe from the stars.
