Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Auralli is not a participator but an observer. She will observe events that go on around her and accumulate knowledge from these events. As a result she will not interfere in anything, even if she is emotionally invested in it. Her whole existence seems to center around learning and gaining knowledge. With her draconic memory, she can remember anything she has learned without putting it down in writing. Auralli is the strong silent type and refuses most contact with others, since she doesn't want to influence the natural unfolding of events. Her interest in gaining knowledge extends not only to other dragons, but to the stars themselves. Solar flares, magnetic storms, comets, asteroids, and other space phenomenon are things she watches and keeps track of on a regular basis. She does not give her knowledge to others but keeps it to herself. Her knowledge will only be passed on to her offspring, if she ever chooses to have any.
