Frilled Dragons are smaller than most other breeds, but when threatened, they stretch out their wings and frills to appear larger. They generally do not like to fight and prefer hiding to confrontation. Frilled dragons live in small groups and often band together to scare off potential threats. Males also use their frills as a way to attract mates, with those displaying the “best” frills being more likely to breed.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

RhedynByw means "Fern-Life." Her scales are green as the fiddleheads on a summer morning, and streaked like the sky on a warm afternoon. Her frills fan out in the hot wind from the forest, and bees buzz around her talons where she crouches in a clearing full of wildflowers. Cicadas and birdsong drone in the shade, and at night a lone wolf howls far away. Sometimes she answers. She can feel her heartbeat against the dry, sun-warmed grass, and the sky is blue as morning glories and riverbeds. An icy-clear brook prattles to itself just to the side of her left wing, and she trails her tail in the water, flicking spray when she twitches it in dreams. Clouds pass overhead and dance to the rhythm of the endless sky. Slowly, the purple breath of evening settles over the world; RhedynByw counts the colors in the sunset and inhales the sweet scent of things that bloom in the night. A final hummingbird flits to one last red bloom. And the ferns, the fiddleheads, curl up to wait for the dawn.
