Swallowtail Dragons are graceful and quick flyers, much like their namesake bird. They are capable of precise aerial acrobatics, and can reach very high altitudes. Because of this, humans observing these dragons are often astonished at how large they are when confronted up close. A Swallowtail’s diet consists of insects and small mammals plentiful in temperate forests. These dragons are also made remarkable by their paper-thin wing membranes, which allow light to pass through, creating an astonishing effect on starry nights.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Breath Taking is a beautiful dragon who lives in a group of male and female Swallowtails. She is stiff and cold around strangers, sounding arrogant and even proud when with lesser lineage dragons. The female was one of the Swallowtails who created the group and she enacted the rules that went against messy heritage dragons.

It took a long time for a male to catch her attention. What seemed ironic was that her interest, Fabulous, was the exact opposite personality wise to her. They seemed to click together, however, no matter how often Breath Taking chided her mate about his antics. She likes to sit by him and watch the sun as it rises and falls, listening to his romantic tales of two separated lovers. The female enjoys listening to the sad ones the best, since then she can comfort her mate as he cries at his own fake stories.

Breath Taking has no thoughts about the dragons who were rejected from the group. She was the one who made that rule, and she believes that it is correctly used.
