Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow like fire and has a spark at the end of its tail.
And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don’t grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.

Smallspark is a frozen male Electric hatchling of the Featherwing Weyr. Once, due to one of the Magi Spellsong's botched spells, Smallspark accidentally fell through a dimension rip into another realm. Thankfully, he was rescued, but ever since the hatchling has chattered non stop about the sights he saw in the alternate dimension. Among his stories are tales of small, compact dragons made of metal that roared along the ground, wingless, at impossible speeds; most of his fellow hatchlings think that Smallspark just has a penchant to exaggerate.
