Failed attempts to experiment with magic often result in transforming dragons into these hellish creatures. They are extremely dangerous, and will mindlessly kill any living creature without regard to friend or foe.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This is the ballad of a dragon named Vill-- a Waterwalker who the villagers just couldn't kill. He'd ruin their fish nets and devour their crops-- nothing the people did could get the dragon to stop. That is until a stalwart knight happened into town, and amidst begging and pleading, agreed to a showdown. He ventured to the forest and followed footprints as a trace-- right up until he met the dragon face to face. It was a vicious battle that lasted from night into day, sword clashing with jaws, predator verses prey. Though exhausted, at last the Knight's weapon swung true! The dragon collapsed, speared through and through.

Weeks would pass before another traveler came by: a wizard with ill-intent and evil in his eyes. He'd heard from the locals of a dragon who was slain, left where it fell, sword still buried in its frame. And with a couple whispered words and a bit of black magic, Vill the dragon's story would become a lot more tragic...
