The union of two royal breeds brings the pinnacle of majesty: the Royal Eminence Dragon. Named for the crown-like ornamentation of their horns and the rich, lustrous purple of their hide, these large, regal dragons embody the grace and strength of a reigning monarch, and often approach the control of their territory in much the same way. Though not usually inclined to violence, a Royal Eminence dragon can be a harrowing opponent for any challenger; with their grand stature and limber movements, these dragons are startlingly quick on their feet and utilize an elegant mix of brute strength and deft strategy to conquer their adversaries. When not caught in the throes of combat, a Royal Eminence is known to be quiet and reserved, preferring to watch over their kingdoms from afar and only interfering should their denizens be threatened by an outsider. Yet these dragons are impressively diplomatic with others of their own kind and will even welcome guests from neighboring territories so long as all interactions remain respectful of the ruling host’s sovereignty, though consensus over what constitutes respect seems to vary.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Almost by accident, Shusseki has developed a reputation as a purveyor of esoteric questing gossip. It started when one of Shusseki's family members asked for help keeping humans away from their treasure hoard. The solution Shusseki came up with was to pretty up one of his less impressive jeweled swords, stick it in a tree, and then spread rumors about the sword. Soon the knights roaming the area were uninterested in the dragon treasure, and far more keen on finding the legendary weapon that supposedly spoke to those deemed worthy, would glow in the presence of the bearer's true love, and could be used to divide fruit into perfectly equal portions. Of course, as soon as someone found the sword, Shusseki had to figure out another obscure magical item to use as a lure. Over the years, he's hidden all sorts of weapons and jewelry, some with cryptic words carved into them, to catch the attention of thieves and questers alike. He has come to enjoy hearing about how crazy the legends become.
