Avatars of Change are unpredictable, exuberant dragons whose unique connection to magic has saturated their entire bodies. It is said that possessing one of their iridescent scales can change one’s fate, and many have sought the favor of these dragons hoping to receive a scale as a gift.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This generous and sympathetic dragon, Dakota, came across a miserable and weeping Black dragon in a faraway land. Feeling deep despair for her situation, he approached her and asked her what was wrong. She replied that her mate had abandoned her and that she was feeling alone. Wishing to help, he offered to spend time with her in order to console her.

He decided to take her to the land of Bonnaroo. The two spend four long days together prowling the skies, hunting, and sunbathing. Dakota attempted to show the Black dragon the brighter things in life in order for her to embrace the life she lived. With great difficulty on the fourth day, the two said their goodbyes. The Black dragon informed many of EG's Cave's elders of this dragon's noble deed, and the elders granted Dakota the suffix "Lifesaver".

To this day, Dakota Lifesaver travels around EG's Cave and helps other dragons overcome their depression.
