Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Mienariovorope, though being a scavenger, has watched couples on the beach outside her cliff face cave with longing. Eventually one of the humans glance her and climb the cliff to investigate, when they find Mienariovorope she retreats to the back of her cave and keeps a small steady flame, giving her mouth the appearance of glowing. The human returns every day trying to coax her out, she resists the temptations of meat, animals, even the offer of a small sparkling stone. But that all changes when the human, in attempting to bring her his next offering, is surrounded by a group of the other humans on the beach, Mienariovorope senses hostility and lunges from her cave to save the only human with the perception and will to attempt a coalition with her. The small band of larger humans ward off at her sight leaving only her and the boy in a loose circle, allowing Mienariovorope the necessary room needed to take off with the boy.
